Teresa Doblinger, Bass Clarinet & Dance

living, creating, dancing, practicing, rehearsing, performing … sharing.

Here are some details about me – but keep in mind they’re just details…

My artistic and clarinetistic appearance is influenced a great deal – besides the impressive work with my long-term teacher Ernesto Molinari – by my experience in dance as well as many other creative fields like Théatre Musical, whereas I did the Master of Arts in Music Performance and Minor in Dance and Creation of Movement at Bern University of the Arts (Switzerland). In addition to the resonance of these in my everyday-musician’s-life, I’m creating my own projects with the combination of both the bass clarinet and dance.

I’ve already had the great opportunity to work with characters like Helmut Oehring, Harry Spaarnay, Heinz-Peter Linshalm and Petra Stump, Jennifer Walshe, Georges Aperghis, Pierre Sublet, Patrick Jüdt, Donatienne Michel-Dansac, Tom Pauwels and Tom de Cock… Courses like the Darmstädter Ferienkurse für Neue Musik and the Impuls Academy in Graz were moments connecting me further with contemporary music.

In June 2015 I played my last recital and the final exam at Bern University of the Arts in Dampfzenzrale Bern. Afterward, I spent three months traveling through France and Indonesia, teaching German at Universitas Pattimura (Ambon, Moluccu / Indonesia), and giving a presentation on the International Seminar “Character Building Through Educational Sciences”.  Three concerts in France with “La Suite de La Sonnambula” started my musical year, followed by many months of intense work with refugees in Austria.

In September 2017 I showed my project “La Sonnambula” in Amsterdam at Neu Now Festival. Shortly after I started the Master’s Degree PPCM with Klangforum Wien at KUG in Graz whereas for a year I was doing Erasmus with Ensemble Ictus and therefore breathing chaotic but artistically enriching Brussels’ air. Back in Graz I finished the Master’s Degree PPCM and focussed on projects such as organizing the festival HÖRSTurm in Ried im Innkreis from 28.-30.06.2019. Currently, I’m intensely expanding my knowledge and abilities in dance at Performact in Torres Vedras, Portugal whilst collecting ingredients for future projects of deeper connections between music and dance.
